VISA: Citizens from a limited number of countries only are required to obtain a VISA to enter Colombia.

Currency: The local currency is the Colombian peso (COP).

Altitude: Bogotá is at 2600 meters. Altitude adaptation takes time - the first day or two, take it easy, drink a lot of water and a soft pain killer is a good option.
Be safe: A number of precautions are advisable for you to enjoy a safe stay in Bogotá. Please, remember to:
- Do not leave your electronic devices: smart phones, tablets, laptops, etc… in plain sight
- Do not order any taxi at random: ask for help to order one
